Esmeralda Torres Querétaro 1978 IG: @esmeraldatorress Entiende la pintura como un diálogo permanente consigo misma y con lo otro. En su práctica cotidiana busca la libertad expresiva a través del lenguaje abstracto y de la experimentación e investigación de diversas técnicas y materiales, que forman parte esencial de sus procesos creativos. Para Esmeralda "todos los materiales son dignos vehículos de su espiritualidad. Los materiales dejan ver su mutabilidad, su transformación o, en su defecto, su resistencia", escribe sobre ella la poeta Kenia Cano. La pintura es un territorio que le permite reflexionar acerca de diversos temas y establecer correspondencias y conexiones con su entorno, con el paisaje y la naturaleza. Ha participado en diversas exposiciones individuales y colectivas en museos y galerías de su ciudad y de su país, así como en Lisboa, Suecia y España. Ha recibido premios y distinciones en Bienales de pintura, nacionales e internacionales. Becaria de Jóvenes Creadores del FONCA y becaria en distintas emisiones de la Secretaría de Cultura de Querétaro. Forma parte de colecciones del Banco de México, Pago en especie de la Secretaría de Hacienda y Crédito Público, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo 8 y Museo Escárcega de Aguascalientes, Museo Regional de Querétaro, Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro, entre otras. Titulada en Artes Visuales en la Facultad de Artes de la Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro. Miembro del Sistema Nacional de Creadores de Arte del SACPC FONCA 2020-2023. In her daily practice, she seeks expressive freedom through abstract language and through the experimentation and exploration of diverse techniques and materials, which constitute an essential part of her creative processes. For Esmeralda, "all materials are worthy vehicles of her spirituality. Materials reveal their mutability, their transformation or, alternatively, their resistance," writes poet Kenia Cano. Painting is a territory that allows her to reflect on a variety of subjects and to establish correspondences and connections with her surroundings, the landscape, and nature. She has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in museums and galleries in her city and throughout her country, as well as in Lisbon, Sweden, and Spain. She has received awards and distinctions in national and international painting biennials. She was a recipient of the FONCA Young Creators Fellowship and has also received grants through various editions of the Querétaro State Ministry of Culture. Her work is included in the collections of the Bank of Mexico, the Payment in Kind Collection of the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo 8, Museo Escárcega de Aguascalientes, Museo Regional de Querétaro, and the Autonomous University of Querétaro, among others. She holds a degree in Visual Arts from the Faculty of Arts at the Autonomous University of Querétaro. She was a member of the National System of Art Creators (Sistema Nacional de Creadores de Arte) of SACPC FONCA for the 2020–2023 term.
