Azucena Germán 1979 Querétaro IG: @zucegerman Artista queretana nacida en la década de los setenta tiene una larga trayectoria en su búsqueda formal. En 2006 presentó en el Museo de la Ciudad de Querétaro, una instalación de capullos enormes germinados, ese era el resultado de una estancia que realizó en la School of Visual Arts en New York City, sería congruente señalar tal muestra como uno de los hechos que sumaron a la construcción del escenario del arte contemporáneo de la entidad, aún en consolidación; desde entonces Azucena se ha sumado al grupo de artistas tras el giro ecológico (Guasch, 2016, 205). De entonces a ahora su obra se ha sublimado, construye microecosistemas que en esta ocasión surgen de la lectura de la poeta Emily Dickinson (1830-1886, Amherst, Massachusetts, E.U.). ENG A Querétaro based artist born in the 1970s, she has developed a long-standing practice characterized by an ongoing formal exploration. In 2006, she presented an installation of large germinating cocoons at the Museum of the City of Querétaro, the result of a residency at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. It would be fair to regard this exhibition as one of the milestones that contributed to the development of Querétaro’s contemporary art scene, which was still in the process of consolidation. Since then, Azucena has become part of the group of artists associated with the ecological turn (Guasch, 2016, p. 205). Over the years, her work has evolved into increasingly refined micro-ecosystems, which in this exhibition emerge from a reading of the poetry of Emily Dickinson (1830–1886, Amherst, Massachusetts, USA).
