ALE DE LA PUENTE
Ale de la Puente es artista con una formación diversa que incluye diseño industrial, orfebrería, textil, construcción naval, navegación, astronomía, física y filosofía. Su obra explora nociones del tiempo y el espacio a través de un amplio campo de medios, que van desde instalaciones y esculturas hasta dibujos, fotografías, videos, incluyendo expediciones de arte y ciencia en la búsqueda de fenómenos naturales simbólicos, cómo los significamos y cómo nos relacionamos con ellos.
Recientemente estuvo en la residencia StudioQuantum en Johannesburgo, y la residencia Artist at Sea del Schmidt Ocean Institute, en una investigación oceanográfica en el Golfo de California.
Ha colaborado con científicos del Instituto de Astronomia y de Ciencias Nucleares de la UNAM para la realización de su obra; es miembro del Sistema Nacional de Creadores; obtuvo mención honorífica Collide@CERN Ars Electronica realizando residencias en el CERN Supercolisionador de Hadrones (Ginebra, Suiza) y actualmente contínua colaborando con científicos de dicha institución. Ha recibido distinciones del programa ACT (arte-ciencia-tecnología) de Secretaría de Cultura y UNAM, del Centro Multimedia del Cenart, de Fundación SIVAM, Pollock-Krassner Foundation, entre otros. Es miembro del Sistema Nacional de Creadores.
Ale de la Puente is an artist with a diverse background that includes industrial design, jewelry, textiles, shipbuilding, navigation, astronomy, physics, and philosophy. Her work explores notions of time and space through a wide range of media, including installations, sculptures, drawings, photography, and video, as well as art and science expeditions in search of symbolic natural phenomena, the meaning we give to them, and our relationship with them.
She recently participated in the StudioQuantum residency in Johannesburg and the Schmidt Ocean Institute's Artist at Sea residency, conducting oceanographic research in the Gulf of California.
She has collaborated with scientists from the Institute of Astronomy and Nuclear Sciences of UNAM on her work; she is a member of the National System of Creators; she received an honorable mention from Collide@CERN Ars Electronica while completing residencies at the CERN Super Hadron Collider (Geneva, Switzerland), and currently continues to collaborate with scientists from that institution. She has received awards from the ACT (art-science-technology) program of the Ministry of Culture and UNAM, the Cenart Multimedia Center, the SIVAM Foundation, and the Pollock-Krassner Foundation, among others. She is a part of the National Creators Fellowship.
